Sabtu 13 Juli 2019, Fakultas Matematika dan Ilmu Pengetahuan Alam UNM bekerja sama dengan WEnglish melaksanakan Test of English as a Foreging Language<\/em> (TOEFL) di Ruang Senat FMIPA. Test ini diikuti oleh 46 mahasiswa FMIPA, diantaranya dari Jurusan Biologi, Jurusan Kimia, dan Prodi Pendidikan IPA.<\/p>\n

Pelaksanaan TOEFL ini merupakan bagian dari program peningkatan kemampuan bahasa inggris mahasiswa FMIPA UNM. Peningkatan kemampuan bahasa Inggris di kalangan civitas akademika FMIPA saat ini menjadi perhatian, mengingat pentingnya keterampilan bahasa Inggris bagi mahasiswa untuk melanjutkan studi, khususnya melalui jalur beasiswa di dalam dan di luar negeri.<\/p>\n

\u201cSkor perolehan mahasiswa pada test ini akan dikirim ke jurusan masing-masing sebagai pertimbangan bagi pimpinan jurusan untuk memberi saran mengenai langkah peningkatan kemampuan bahasa Inggris bagi mahasiswa.\u201d Wakil Dekan Bidang Kerja Sama dan Pengembangan menjelaskan tindak lanjut dari pelaksanaan TOEFL tersebut.<\/p>\n

Selain untuk memantau peningkatan kemampuan bahasa Inggris mahasiswa FMIPA, test ini diselenggarakan untuk memberi pengalaman bagi mahasiswa untuk mengerjakan TOEFL. Hal ini diakui oleh sebagian besar peserta yang baru pertama kali mengikuti test TOEFl hari itu. Melalui program peningkatan kemampuan bahasa inggris yang dilaksanakan FMIPA bekerjasama dengan WEnglish, diharapkan semakin banyak mahasiswa yang mampu berbahasa Inggris dengan baik. Pelaksanaan TOEFL batch 2<\/em> direncanakan untuk diselenggarakan pada tanggal 3 Agustus 2019.<\/p>\n
